SkillGym was designed with one concept in mind: Conversations should not be considered as just a vehicle because they take roughly 80% of your time as a manager.  Conversations, great conversations are the GOAL!
You were selected as part of a small group from your organization to test SkillGym.
Before you begin your journey, we would like to provide you with an overview of what SkillGym is about and how, with consistent practice, it can help you and your colleagues make the best of leadership conversations.

What is your role in this trial?
We want you to try out SkillGym on your own.
You will be enrolled in a practice Bootcamp that will provide you access to play freely with several available scenarios.
In order to optimize your experience, we suggest using our platform in Chrome. Please review the SkillGym system requirements to maximize your experience.
Following are the step-by-step instructions:
1) In the near future, you will receive an activation email from SkillGym confirming that your Bootcamp has been opened along with the instructions to access the platform.
2) Once you register, a second email will be sent to you with additional onboarding information on how to use SkillGym as a valuable tool to improve your soft skills. We recommend watching the video tutorials in full. They can be accessed from the homepage and are intended to help you better understand how SkillGym works. The same set of videos can always be accessed from the Help Desk section.
3) The day after these initial two emails, the platform will invite you to schedule a virtual conversation, a Digital Role Play session, with one of the characters from the four available scenarios dealing with different critical conversations (negotiating an objective, delegating a task, checking priorities and giving feedback).
4) The invitation will take you to an online doodle-style calendar where you can select your preferred date/time slot for scheduling the Digital Role Play session. The system will record your preference and send you a calendar invitation and reminders.
5) In addition to the scheduled appointments, you are invited to access the platform anytime to try out all four of the available scenarios mentioned above. The trial is intended to let you test the process and outcomes.

SkillGym is comprised of four main components. Let’s explore them one by one, starting with immersive practice.
IMMERSIVE, REAL-TIME PRACTICE

According to the best trainers in the world, this is the most important part of the equation.
Did you know that our brain does not distinguish between reality and fiction? Neuroscience has confirmed that immersive, real-time practice makes you change your habits and thus also your daily behaviors?
Through the use of artificial intelligence (A.I.), the interaction in this Gym is particularly immersive and authentic because the characters are ‘alive’ and react in a natural way throughout the course of the conversation, just like a real conversation.
SkillGym simulates real leadership conversations by placing the trainee at the center of a real (but simulated) conversation, in which the other party has a well-profiled attitude based on specific psychological types.
The conversation’s objectives are challenging and the counterpart’s implicit needs are not easy to bring out.
Each choice made by the trainee involves a twist in the behavior of the character who gradually gets to know the trainee and adapts his answers in congruence with his personality and the course of the conversation.
The result is that in less than 20 minutes, natural behaviors emerge that can be addressed during training to learn how to manage this type of complexity before facing it in real life.

To find out, in a safe place, where we could have done better and why it didn’t go as we thought.
SkillGym offers us this privilege!
For 2 minutes immediately following the conversation and thanks to the A.I. Emotional Feedback, trainees can hear the character talking about them with precise references to the conversation that has just ended.
This provides insight to the manager on exactly what worked and what didn’t in their approach.
Nobody in real life has the courage to give us such unfiltered feedback. Here’s how A.I. helps us improve and develop real experience.
Other techniques are not able to replicate this outcome particularly on a scale needed to activate the automatic behaviors necessary to generate experience-based performance.
